Lighthouse of Alexandria
The Lighthouse of Alexandria was a tower built by the Ptolemaic Kingdom between 280 and 247 BC and it was about 120 to 137 meters tall.
It was the tallest man-made structure on earth for many centuries. It was greatly damaged between 956 and 1323 AD, after this it became an abandoned wreck. IT was the third longest living out of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World until 1480, the last lot of its stone was taken and used to build the Citadel of Qaitbay on the site, but then in 1994, a French archaeologists discovered some remains of the lighthouse on the floor of Alexandria's Eastern Habor.
